In the heart of Hollywood, the birth of a yearly tradition will begin with the premiere of the Mockfest Film Festival

From June 1st through June 3rd, the best independent mockumentaries from all over the world will be screening together for the first time in an exciting venue at the heart of the Hollywood legend. Opening night will be June 1st, 2007 at 7:30pm at the Vine Theater, 6321 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, Ca 90028… immediately west of the famed "Hollywood & Vine" intersection. Of the 200+ film submissions, 23 will be part of history in the making. Come see MOCKFEST 2007.

Our mission objective each year will be to showcase the best mockumentaries from all around the world. We want to gather all mockumentary filmmakers to celebrate and share the beauty and brilliance of the mockumentary as an artform in the center of it all… Hollywood, California. This year our theme is erotica… handled however the filmmaker wishes…. in lengths from a few minutes to 2 hours. They have given us their best.

2007 will mark the first annual MOCKFEST… sure to be a momentous occasion. The selection process was grueling but neccesary. 9 industry professionals on our staff narrowed over 200 submissions to the top 23 mockumentaries… 8 feature length films and 15 short length. Being the first of it's kind in the world, MOCKFEST promises to always take film to the next level. There will be three awards given out this year: Best Mockumentary Feature, Best Mockumentary Short, and The Zelig Award (for Excellence and Innovation in Independent Filmmaking).

Being screened are "The Proper Care and Feeding of An American Messiah", "The Making of: Grits", "Script Cops", "Rebel Studz: The Uncensored Documentary", "Hooch and Daddy-O", "Peter: Mormon Filmmaker", " A Study in the Orientation of Han Sum (The Erotic Samurai)", "Send in the Clowns", "The Toll", "'LIFE COACH the movie", "Unflinching Triumph", "Manoj: Telemarketer Elite", "The Paul Decca Story", "Reality School", "Long Pigs", Plight of the Windie: Birds of Mystery", "MaxiDoodles: Behind the Makeup", "My Life in Subtitles", "Serial", "Hardcore: A Poke Into the Adult Film Orafice", "Outta Sync", "Return of the Hero", "The Ancient Art of "Maximum Efficiency in Self Preservation and Hand Punching with Kicks and Ground Fighting". Also being showcased, but not in competition, will be several award winning mockumentaries from past events and other festivals.
