Toni Shelton, based in Los Angeles, is dedicated to delivering the message that we are not alone in the challenges of life. They provide real life success strategies through inspirational speaking and written material. The trio targets corporations, schools, churches, homeless shelters and non-profit organizations. “There is a way to overcome every obstacle and to find the strength to endure,” states Toni Shelton. Discovering her mother’s dead body at the age of 7, raising her siblings after her grandmother died when she was 17, escaping an abusive marriage, being homelessness with four children of her own, Shelton knows a thing or two about surviving against the odd. Fast-forward to today and Shelton has had a successful print modeling career and thriving businesses; including two upscale boutiques patronized by celebrities. She is also author of Rising Star, an insider’s look into the modeling industry, offering readers an overview of the business and techniques for success.
Compassion has always been a way of life for Shelton. Two years ago, she offered her two homes in Chicago and a home in L.A. to victims of Katrina, but when inundated with calls for help, she teamed up with her friend LisaRaye (co-star of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s sitcom “All of Us”) to find volunteers willing to take people into their homes. In 2001, she was honored with the “Women Who Make A Difference Award,” presented by the Make A Difference Youth Foundation. “As a person who has endured numerous hardships, I personally know what it is like to feel like you are drowning, empty inside with no solutions, no hope. But there are answers, there is a way out.”
