The Monolators' 3rd Annual Video Premiere Extravaganza

Husband and wife garage rock duo The Monolators, fresh from their winter 2007 west coast tour, have once again pulled together some of the finest indie rock bands in Los Angeles for their third annual music video premiere extravaganza. 8-bit, Castledoor, Summer Darling, and of course The Monolators will be on hand for a multimedia barrage of new music videos and live performances.

On May 23rd at The Echo in Echo Park, bands will debut a brand new music video and follow it with a live performance. This will be the first public screening of any kind for these videos and will be a great opportunity to experience the work of some of the most creative acts in L.A.

To promote the event, 8-bit performs live on KXLU 88.9FM’s “Live at 5” (5pm) on 5/21.

About the bands:
8-bit – notorious girl/boy robot rapping bedlam best known for their Ghettochip Malfunction remix of Beck’s “Hell Yeah,” 8-bit recently released an official cover of “We Are the Robots” for the band Kraftwerk on Astralwerks. Their latest album I Sold My Soul for Nothing was also just released in January.

Castledoor – quickly becoming a favorite in the Los Angeles music scene, the band is currently recording at The Ship in Eagle Rock with producer Aaron Espinoza (Earlimart, Devics, The Meeting Places).

Summer Darling – combining the strength of Zeppelin with the subtlety of Death Cab For Cutie, Summer Darling has been described as “sunny (yet slightly melancholy) pop.” Splendidzine described their first full length, I Know You — I Never Knew You , as having “unrelentingly tight song craft”. They are currently recording their second full length album.

The Monolators – landing somewhere between Buddy Holly and Jarvis Cocker, this is garage pop with a skinny singer and a drummer inspired by Animal from The Muppets. Really. Up-and-coming British blog, "The Devil Has the Best Tuna", recently proclaimed their song "Red Lamb" as the best song of 2006.The band heads back into the studio this summer to record the follow-up to last year's Our Tears Have Wings.
