Charlotte, NC – May 2007 – Livingston & Haven, an industrial technology provider, was selected as a winner of the third annual Progressive Manufacturing 50 Awards Program, selected by Managing Automation, a Thomas Publishing Company, LLC publication. The awards program recognizes manufacturers that are being progressive in their business, in the management of their operations and in their use of advanced technologies. The Progressive Manufacturing 50 Awards Program recognizes 50 companies that have achieved distinction in at least one of the eight core disciplines defined by Managing Automation as critical to business success in the years ahead. These disciplines include: Business Model Mastery, Customer Mastery, Supply Network Mastery, Data & Integration Mastery, Innovation Mastery, Training & Education Mastery, Leadership and Operational Excellence. Livingston & Haven excelled in every discipline and won an award in the Overall Excellence category.
Livingston & Haven received this award for their project “Driving Efficiency” that began in 2003 when CEO, Clif Vann III, challenged each associate with “doing whatever it takes to ensure the long-term health of U.S. manufacturing.” As a result, Livingston & Haven began to redefine its business in order to become a unique and essential partner for U.S. manufacturing. The company focused on expanding its expertise in a variety of engineering disciplines, driving efficiencies in the supply chain and providing scaleable future proof solutions from the plant floor to the top floor.
“We’re extremely pleased to receive this prestigious award. Recognition of our strategy to ensure the health of U.S. manufacturing from a respected source such as Managing Automation really provides fuel to our efforts. We hope that this serves as inspiration to others to know the manufacturing community can remain and invest in the U.S. and still be very profitable,” Bruce McKay, Vice President of Livingston & Haven stated.
Project nominations were reviewed by an independent judging panel chaired by David Brousell, Editor-in-Chief, Managing Automation. Judges evaluated and scored nominated projects based on project scope, business impact, customer impact, technology use and scale. Progressive Manufacturing 50 winners were the companies receiving the highest total scores.
The Progressive Manufacturing 50 award winners will be honored and presented their awards at the Progressive Manufacturing Awards Gala Dinner to be held on the last day of the Progressive Manufacturing Summit, June 12-14 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas. In addition to presenting the awards to the 50 winners, Managing Automation will also announce High Achievers in each of the eight disciplines as well as the 2007 Progressive Manufacturer of the Year.
