VoIP Service in San Diego
May 17, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Voip service provider 5PCom.com recently launched as a full service VoIP provider based in Sorrento Valley, San Diego’s North County “technology district.” The company was founded by a San Diego entrepreneur with years of experience in web based technology, architecture, and design. Several years of planning culminated in an official launch on March 07, 2007. “I first got interested in VoIP years back, before the technology made it a feasible alternative to traditional phone service. I knew it would take off, and I’m happy to have my foot in the door of this market at such a crucial point in it’s development” says company founder and CEO, F. Douglas. The upstart voip provider has an infrastructure that spans the US and Canada, with a customer service and support division based in British Columbia, Canada.“My guys in B.C. really know this business, and I’m glad to have them on our team” says Douglas. “Besides, it’s preferable to other options, like outsourcing the support overseas for example. That would save us money in the short term, but keeping our team on the North American continent provides a more seamless dialogue between tech support and our customers, since (North America) is where the majority of our customer base is.” Douglas formed 5PCom from “prior business associations and marketing relationships with voip industry professionals in both San Diego and B.C…” and maintains Sales and Administration headquarters in Sorrento Valley, CA.
5Pcom’s voip service fairs well when measured against the industry’s standard “yardstick” of features, such as voice quality, standard features, and cost. Most notably, this voip provider touts no start-up fee, and a pricing structure that beats industry leader Vonage by a few bucks per month; 5Pcom’s unlimited plan is only $19.99 (with a 1-year commitment) where Vonage costs $24.99 for an equivalent plan (at the time of this writing.) The company lets you use the service with your own adapter (ADA) or voip phone (SIP enabled.) Alternatively, if you don’t have one, 5PCom will provide an adaptor for you with a refundable deposit. Another service option is VoIP Softphone, which lets you use your SIP enabled PC or Laptop to make and receive voip calls.
