KODI Rafting Introduces Private Boater Awareness Course Now Open To The Public

KODI Rafting owners Christian and Christy Campton are offering a new Private Boater Awareness training course that is the first of its kind in Colorado. This course is designed to give private boaters instruction that they may not have received when they learned to boat. As whitewater rafting is one of the fastest growing adventure sports in the country, more and more people are choosing to venture out onto the rivers on their own. Few among this legion of new boating enthusiasts have had the opportunity for formal training. Most rafting instruction courses available on the market today are for either people aspiring to be guides or to the legion of kayakers, and folks who like to take a raft out on their own tend to be left out of the loop. We feel our course can give private boaters the knowledge they need to safely experience the river.

The first weekend of the course covers every basic from whitewater rafting techniques, boat repair and care, rigging, and tie downs while the second weekend is reserved for ACA Swiftwater Training. Boaters will learn recognition and avoidance ofcommon river hazards, execution of self-rescue techniques, and rescue techniques for paddlers in distress. Emphasis is placed both on personal safety and on simple, commonly used skills. Scenarios will provide an opportunity for participants to practice their skills both individually and within a team/group context.
Private boaters will gain confidence both on and off the river with this KODI Rafting course, and may even save their own lives as they journey down the rivers of America this summer.
