Portland, OR – May 2007 – Kristin Wall, an advertising student at The Art Institute of Portland, wins the Gold ADDY award at the Annual Seattle Advertising Federation Student ADDY competition.

This was a first time win for Wall and a first time entry for The Art Institute of Portland. The submission was a three-piece print public service announcement for cervical cancer awareness aimed at college-aged women and men.

“I’m very honored to receive this prestigious award and recognition, not only for myself, but on behalf of The Art Institute of Portland as well. I took a risk with this campaign. It’s edgy and is meant to provoke a response that will strongly encourage young women to make an appointment with their doctor,” said Wall.

All gold winning entries have been forwarded to the district competition committee. District winners will be announced the Week of April 2nd. The district winners then will advance to the national competition where the final award winners will be announced at the AAF National Conference that takes place June 9-11.

The Northwest ADDY Awards is an annual creative competition sponsored by District 11 of the American Advertising Federation (AAF); the advertising industry’s largest trade organization. District 11 is comprised of local clubs in the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alaska and the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta.
