New Anti-virus Product tops Software Review

BitDefender antivirus was ranked #1 in the 2007 TopTenREVIEWS’ anti-virus software category, beating long time industry giants such as Trend Micro’s PC-Cilin, Symantec’s Norton and McAfee VirusScan.

The review criteria included ease of use, effectiveness of the updates, feature sets, ease of installation, and the quality of support provided. BitDefender scored four out of four marks for each criterion, winning the review site’s Gold Award.

“BitDefender 10 is an outstanding product with a user-friendly interface that will scan all existing files on your computer and all incoming and outgoing emails,” commented the site’s reviewer. “Anyone who spends time on the Internet knows the importance of anti–virus software; BitDefender will keep your computer virus–free and running smoothly.”

This is not the first top ranking that BitDefender has achieved. In early 2006, PCWorld.com (website published by PC World Magazine) awarded BitDefender a “#1 antivirus ranking” in their online comparative charts. PC Answers, a British computer magazine has also ranked BitDefender as their top antivirus choice in their recently published antivirus review, citing that "BitDefender is the one that we'd put on our PC's".

BitDefender is a division of the Romanian company Softwin and was founded in 2001. Having gone global, the company now provides threat management to home and corporate users in more than 100 countries, with offices in the United States, Romania, Germany and Spain.
