MediaMinister Raises Funds for Donkey Charity

[NEWS, Brighton, UK] Donkeys are delightfully fun and hard-working animals. Just remember all those seaside donkey rides when you were young… Sadly, we hear more and more about how they are abused, cruelly neglected or abandoned. The Donkey Sanctuary aims to offer every single donkey a safe haven, yet the charity needs as many donations as it can get. MediaMinister, a Sussex-based consultancy, aims to help them raise funds.

MediaMinister has pledged to donate 5% of all revenues raised throughout the remainder of May 2007 to The Donkey Sanctuary, which relies totally on donations. The initiative launches today, coinciding with International Donkey Week (8-15 May).

The aims of Devon-based The Donkey Sanctuary are “to prevent the suffering of donkeys worldwide through the provision of high quality, professional advice, training and support on donkey welfare. In the UK and Ireland permanent sanctuary is provided to any donkey in need of refuge.”

“No matter how full it is, or how squeezed for cash they are, The Donkey Sanctuary never refuses entry to any sad donkey, as long as he or she is fit to travel. They will do all they can for those who aren’t. I fully support their cause and decided to do some fundraising of my own on their behalf,” says Tracey Dooley, founder of MediaMinister.co.uk.

“The Donkey Sanctuary spends only approximately 6p in every £1 donated on administration costs, which means that the majority of all donations received goes directly to helping the donkeys. So please dig into your pockets. You can easily get rid of that annoying change that just rips holes in your jeans, or makes your purse bulge open, and help our hairy, four-legged friends in the process,” adds Dooley.
