James F. Kenefick, who founded BetterWorld Telecom—the first nationwide full service telecommunications carrier focused on serving businesses that support social justice and sustainability—is pleased to be presenting a case study about the company’s fully integrated approach toward corporate philanthropy, sustainability and industry-leading business practices to the attendees at a Northern California Grantmakers conference later this month. The May 17 program is called “NCG Integrated Corporate Philanthropy: Leveraging all Your Company’s Assets” and, according to the organization’s website, promises to “…deliver a dynamic day of learning, featuring world-class thinkers and practitioners who are shaping the future of integrated philanthropy.”
BetterWorld Telecom’s clients include icons of social responsibility like Patagonia Clothing Company, Green Mountain Coffee, the National Peace Corps, Green Peace, Omega Institute, Honest Tea, Seventh Generation and the Enterprise Foundation. The BetterWorld Telecom case study will describe a company that’s on par with all these high-profile clients because they have so fully wrapped their business purpose around the mission of sustainable operations.
Mr. Kenefick is honored to be identified in this group of leading thinkers/practitioners of integrated corporate philanthropy. Throughout his 20-year career as an entrepreneur and CEO in the high tech, nutrition and telecommunications industries he’s honed his personal vision of how for-profit companies can, and should, give back to the local, regional and national communities in which they reside.

WEX supports CEOs, corporate boards and executive management teams by introducing & implementing best practices on high growth, increased productivity and balance with an infusion of social responsibility.
To further the interest of building a just and sustainable world through business, Mr. Kenefick also serves on the board of the Social Venture Network—an organization of socially-conscious business leaders throughout North America.
