Blinc Receives Award from Virginia Chamber of Commerce

STERLING, VA – The Virginia Chamber of Commerce has recognized Blinc, a luxury cosmetics company, as one of Virginia’s Fantastic 50 companies for the year 2007. The award is presented to 50 Virginia-based companies in recognition of their entrepreneurial success and contribution to Virginia’s economic vitality. This marks Blinc’s second consecutive year to achieve this distinction.

The Fantastic 50 awards program celebrates 50 of the fastest-growing companies across the Commonwealth, in all types of industries. Nominations for the Fantastic 50 were sought statewide from local chambers of commerce, economic development organizations and through the sponsors’ networks. Companies may also nominate themselves. The signature event, sponsored by the Chamber, is now in its 12th year.

An official recognition ceremony was held in April at the Westfields Marriott in Chantilly, Virginia. Calling to mind the upcoming 400th anniversary of Jamestown in his opening remarks, Virginia Chamber President & CEO Hugh D. Keogh said, “As we celebrate tonight, we proudly note that the entrepreneurs in this room are a testament to the same bold adventuresome spirit that gave birth to our nation and which still thrives in Virginia today.” Julien G Patterson, Virginia Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board and founder of OMNIPLEX World Services Corporation, was the keynote speaker at the ceremony.
