Wessex Water implements DigiCore’s C-Track vehicle tracking

Vehicle tracking provider DigiCore (www.digicore.co.uk), has secured a new contract with Wessex Water, the regional water and sewage treatment business. Initially, 86 vans will be fitted with DigiCore’s C-track vehicle tracking and fleet management system, with a view to extending the solution across Wessex Water’s field service operations.

Wessex Water selected the server-based C-track system because it possessed excellent open system architecture compared with other leading vehicle tracking products. Because of the added functionality of C-track and its ability to integrate with other third-party reporting and management systems, the solution will enable the company to tackle existing and future tracking and fleet management needs.

The vehicle tracking solution will initially be used to manage the repairs and maintenance section of Wessex Water Networks’ field service staff. Real-time positional data will be relayed via plasma screens so office-based employees can monitor the exact whereabouts and status of the mobile service teams. This information will enable Wessex Water to monitor resource availability and better control the work allocation process, to reduce operating costs and improve customer service levels through faster response times.
