Announcing Cullen’s abc’s Singing Songs with Your Preschoolers

San Jose, CA, May 7, 2007 – Cullen’s abc’s (http://www.cullensabcs.com) announces a new “Songs & Rhymes” category with over 40 easy-to-follow videos. Cullen’s abc’s is a free service that uses short “idea videos” hosted by YouTube to stimulate children's development at home. Now you and your children can enjoy such classic songs as Wheels on the Bus, Old MacDonald Had a Farm, and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star as well as a variety of contemporary songs.

I always loved the lyrics: “Sing, sing a song, Make it simple…Don't worry that it's not good enough for anyone else to hear, Just sing, sing a song,” said Cullen Wood, founder of her namesake website. “In fact, singing is a great activity and can be instrumental in developing multiple skills in preschoolers. When they sing a song, they not only learn new words, they also develop new motor skills from pantomiming song lyrics.”

Video with audio is a great way to teach preschoolers how to sing a song and add movements that depict the song. Singing songs with child is wonderful for many reasons. The most important reason is that singing is it is fun and children love to sing. Songs are great for increasing vocabulary and pronunciation. Using hand and body movements with songs and rhymes helps preschoolers learn to control their bodies.
