The 18th annual Stater Bros. Route 66 Rendezvous is scheduled for September 13-16, 2007 in downtown San Bernardino and the city’s signature event features several changes. The number of registered vehicles will be limited to 1,900, and all participants will receive a reserved parking space and assigned space number included with their $70.00 registration fee. For more information, visit the Route 66 Rendezvous website, www.route-66.orgLast year, the Route 66 Rendezvous offered a limited number of reserved parking spaces to participants and all spaces sold out within the first month. Rendezvous staff received overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants who purchased reserved parking and said that the atmosphere was more relaxed because they could cruise and return to their parking space.
Other changes for the Rendezvous include a single vehicle registration cut-off date of August 1, 2007, and new event and cruise times. The new event hours are Thursday, September 13 and Friday, September 14 from 6:00pm-9:00pm, Saturday, September 15 from 9:00am-9:00pm, and Sunday, September 16 from 9:00am-4:00pm.
The Stater Bros. Route 66 Rendezvous is the largest cruisin’ classic car show on the West Coast and largest automotive celebration of the historic Route 66 Highway. The Route 66 Rendezvous’ sponsor displays, live entertainment, vendors, legendary guests, and car contests transform the 35-blocks of downtown San Bernardino into an automotive paradise. Vehicle Registration Forms will be released to the public during the middle of May 2007. Registration will be open to the first 1,900 approved vehicles, model years 1900-1973 and any year Corvette, Prowler or Viper.
