Gearing up for the summer, or headed on a spring vacation? Before you rush to the gym, drastically alter your diet, or rekindle dusty New Year’s resolutions, check out Tropical Trade Winds’ newest addition to summer fashion at www.tropicalhulahut.com. This online sarong boutique provides users with quality, hand made sarong products and loads of free video instruction on how to use them.

While studying at BYU-Hawaii, www.tropicalhulahut.com owner Julie Azares satiated her interests in fashion and photography in an all out academic exploration of the history of women’s swimwear. This interest and research, coupled with a connection to a plethora of local artists in Hawaii, is the motivating force behind the creation of www.tropicalhulahut.com.

Azares commented on her connection with the Pacific, noting that “When we moved to Hawaii for school, we were immediately greeted with Aloha by a fantastic Hawaiian couple that taught us about the island life of fishing, eating, music, and cultural art. We both felt so welcomed by the people of Polynesia. They taught us the true meaning of Aloha! We want to share that same feeling with everyone that visits our store.”

www.tropicalhulahut.com is a website dedicated to island Sarong/Pareo apparel. When asked why she started a sarong site, she noted that “Too much fuss is placed on looking like a celebrity. You don’t have to have a Jennifer Aniston figure to look good on the beach. A little fashion can go a long way.”

Azares says that her parent company, Tropical Trade Winds LLC, works closely with local artists and distributors from around the world to bring high-quality, “wearable art” to site patrons. With an emphasis on customer service and Aloha, Tropical Hula Hut is poised for success in an online industry that has historically sold cheap, machine manufactured cloth, labeled as sarongs.

Set for a May 6, 2005 launch, www.tropicalhulahut.com is boasting a Shape or Fitness magazine subscription giveaway for customers spending more than $50 on their first purchase. The site also boasts an impressive collection of free “how to tie a sarong” videos and a series of newsletters jam packed with care instruction and other “how to” notes. With over 30 products to browse through, users are sure to find something that will help improve their look, and draw favorable attention on the beach.

Additionally, to honor the victims of the recent Tsunami, www.tropicalhulahut.com will donate a portion of each sale to help with the relief effort. Many sarongs sold by Tropical Hula Hut are hand crafted by talented artisans residing in areas of the world that were drastically affected by the recent Tsunami.

www.tropicalhulahut.com owner Julie Azares resides in Medford, Oregon, with her husband Ryan and their daughter Madelyn.
