With looming constitutional amendments in opposition to homosexual marriage and division in the larger Christian Church surrounding this issue, a website http://www.TruthSetsFree.net was recently established to educate Christians and all others that have been influenced by the established six de-facto Bible verse interpretations often used in the condemnation of homosexuality.
Justin Cannon, a 20-year old gay Christian college student attending Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, went on his own personal quest for knowledge in what is representative of a growing number of gay Christians who desire to reconcile their faith with their sexuality.
His published study is the end product of much research, dialogue, and prayerful reflection. Justin Cannon states, "The Bible has been misinterpreted and in fact distorted to condemn and marginalize gays, often leading them away from the Church and sometimes to such extreme measures as suicide."
Justin Cannon spent 11 years of his young life in an intentional Christian community in the inner city of Detroit. Now he is majoring in French with minors in both Religion and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). Raised in the Episcopal Church, later interest in Catholic, Orthodox, and Quaker theologies have led to an ecumenical perspective that recognizes a deep sense of unity among Christians that transcends the walls of denominations. After he graduates, he plans to attend seminary in California's Bay Area to pursue priesthood in the Episcopal Church.
Printed pamphlets and other formats for download are available free via http://www.TruthSetsFree.net. The style of writing for the piece was designed as an easy-to-read literal translation, looking at both the lexical and historical context.
Justin Cannon concludes, "We need to embrace and support this group of people, not despite scripture and tradition, but in light of it. We need to open the doors of the church and set aside our own human prejudice so that we can truly live according to the law Christ taught us."

http://www.TruthSetsFree.net is an educational website developed to provide free distribution of a study regarding the six Bible 'clobber passages' used to condemn gays. It reveals the misunderstanding of these passages, resulting in the marginalization of gays within the Church. The goal is to tell the truth, so that gay believers can be set free.
