RALEIGH, N.C. – April 2007 – Storybook Safari, an innovative literacy and arts center for preschool and elementary age children, has recently openedat 8320 Litchford Road in the Litchford Village Shopping Center in North Raleigh. Founded by a team of North Carolina certified teachers, Storybook Safari teaches reading concepts to children through music, arts, and other engaging activities. The center offers services that inspire creativity and motivate children from infancy through elementary age. Storybook Safari emphasizes parental involvement by offering parent/child classes and coaching parents on ways to make reading at home a more rewarding experience.
“Storybook Safari gives Raleigh parents an entirely new option for helping their children develop a love of learning,” said Sheree Johnston, chief executive officer of Storybook Safari and a North Carolina certified teacher. “We offer much more than a traditional story time or daycare. Our passion is for children to interact with what they read. We want them to express their own curiosity and interest, and associate reading with having fun.”
Summer classes are now open for registration. Storybook Safari also plans to give area residents a closer look at their facilities and educational approach during an open house on May 24. To learn more, visit www.StorybookSafari.com.
