On Earth Day Visitopia introduces green flying

Amsterdam, April 2007 – From today, free climate compensation to every destination thinkable is a fact! Today. Vistopia and Trees for Travel took the initiative to offer flights with free climate compensation. The free climate compensation for flights bookings is a big step to a mature market of climate compensated products. On the website www.treesfortravel.info you can book every thinkable destination with the guarantee that enough trees are planted to ensure that the greenhouse emissions of the planes are compensated.

Normal tariff WITH compensation
The new concept of Visitopia and Trees for Travel offers a website where flights can be booked against normal tariffs, but with climate compensation. Everyone that books on www.treesfortravel.info gets the guarantee that enough trees are planted to cover the toll that the emissions take on the climate. Trees for Travel will use these trees to recover the Malaysian rain forest, among other projects. Visitopia will facilitate the backend and the website.

The aware generation
With this initiative, Atze Zwirs, the developer of Visitopia, wants to contribute to cut down greenhouse gasses and raise the awareness of the importance of a green environment. “Initiatives as Trees for Travel show that we do not have to settle for this problem. The question was asked why consumers should pay extra when it comes to flying with compensation.
