TAMPA, Fla. – (April 25, 2007) – Magnetic, a full-service Web development firm celebrating its 10th anniversary, has won the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s “Best Places to Work” Award, receiving the highest score of the four category winners for the second year in a row.“We are honored that our employees recognize our dedication to cultivating a rewarding work environment,” said Ken Bakunas, CEO of Magnetic. “By entrusting employees with sales and fostering customer relationships, the management team is able to focus on building an optimal organizational culture, creating an environment of trust and respect for both our employees and clients.”
Magnetic won the top seat in the Nearly Big Category (10-25 employees) with a score of 98.52, which was also the highest score attained by any of the 53 companies recognized in all four award categories, including Big (26-50 employees), Bigger (51-100 employees) and Biggest (over 100 employees). The final ranking order of the winners in each category was announced during the awards luncheon on April 19, 2007, at the A La Carte Pavilion in Tampa.
Finalists were determined based on anonymous employee responses to a survey administered by Kansas-based Quantum Market Research, an independent research firm. Responses were then subjected to a rigorous statistical process to determine the rankings.
Based on the measurement of 40 attributes known to drive employee engagement, employee statements were given a value of one to six points. The statements were broken down into 10 categories: team effectiveness, retention risk, alignment with goals, trust with co-workers, individual contribution, manager effectiveness, trust in senior leaders, feeling valued, work engagement and people practices.
“Our commitment to our employees and overall company culture has been the driving factor behind Magnetic’s successful growth over the past 10 years,” said Jennifer Bakunas, President of Magnetic. “This dedication to building a rewarding work environment has enabled us to attract and retain the most talented professionals in the area.”
