Santa Claus has Joined Team Peachtree
April 25, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Oconee, Georgia - Monday, April 25, 2007 – Peachtree Pest Control hired Mr. David Corley to be their new Branch Manager for their Oconee branch office. What they didn’t know was that they had actually hired Santa Claus, or at least a true personification of him. You see, Mr. Corley has been in pest control for over 28 years and a branch manager for the last 16 of those years and is HPC and WDO certified. But thanks to his resemblance to the infamous Santa Claus he has also portrayed the jolly old elf for many of the Coca Cola commercials. You know the ones; they have the cute polar bears in them. Now you might be wondering why someone who makes money in commercials would want to be in pest control. Well, that’s because he didn’t make the money for himself, he gave it to charities. Mr. Corley doesn’t just dress up and look like Santa; he has used that gift to try to make life better for children everywhere.
He has traveled all over the Southeast for the Make a Wish Foundation visiting critically ill children as Santa, has visited children for the Down Syndrome Foundation, and he has traveled the 7 surrounding counties for the Child Abuse Association. He has also gone out and visited MDA Special Isolated children that can’t go out into public due to immune system deficiencies. He says that kids are his life and obviously his actions prove that to be true.
He does have some other interests as well though. A keen interest in snakes for one. This interest prompted him to take a class at the University of Georgia called Snake Identification, Removal, and Relocation. Another one, what he considers to be his “forte”, is termite control. He says he enjoys the challenge. It shows by the steady increase in revenue and sales his branch has enjoyed since his hiring. He also says he loves his job and wakes up every morning happy and eager to go to work which pushes him to have several goals for his branch. They include such things as growing and prospering under his leadership, with this growth he hopes to hire more people, he knows this will be a challenge because he wants to do this in a once thought of “one pest control company town” as many have referred to Oconee, he believes the town needs competitiveness in the pest control field and he is going to try his best to provide it, he wants to make The Pest Control Store in his branch grow to the point where residents and the county recognize the potential that the store can provide all of their Do It Yourself Pest Control needs and products, he wants to be able to advertise in the local and county newspapers, on the radio and T.V., to get all of his employees certified, and of course to make his branch the number one branch in the company with the highest revenue per employee.
