Intel Core 2 Duo Mini ITX Motherboard Supports PCI Express x16, and IEEE1394a Firewire

Taipei, Taiwan, April 25, 2007 — AXIOMTEK, as a trusted Applied Computing Platform provider, is pleased to release a new high performance Mini ITX motherboard, the SBC86831. Powered by Intel?945GME+ICH7M chipset, the Mini ITX SBC supports dual core processor especially for generic transaction terminal markets. The SBC86831 supports Socket M compliant processors with 533/667MHz FSB (front side bus) including Intel?CoreTM2 Duo, Core Duo, Core Solo and Intel?Celeron?M processors. It comes with dual DDR2 DIMM sockets support maximum up to 3GB of memory capacity. Its rich I/O features enables customer's system easily is applied in various applications; such as, DSA (Digital Signage Appliance), DVR (Digital Video Recorder), gaming and more.


For flexible display configuration, the SBC86831 is coming with one PCIe x16 slot which is default set as to support ADD2+ card for converting SDVO signals to various functions purpose; such as, DVI, 2nd CRT, HDTV and 2nd LVDS. Furthermore, the discrete graphic can be an optional support if the onboard LVDS is removed which is ideally for high performance display applications. The onboard multiple serial interfaces, such as, 2 IEEE1394a, 8 USB 2.0, 8 Digital I/O and 4 COM ports, are good for rich peripheral applications like POS (Point of Sale), DVR etc.


Additionally, dual Gigabit Ethernet ports are connected from PCIe x1 bus for full speed 1000 Base-T networking connectivity. In the meanwhile, to support battery monitoring function, the SBC86831 is with onboard SMBus for this interfacing feature. Some manufacturing optional features like TPM 1.2 and RAID 0, 1 which are nice to be equipped for high security & data redundancy demands.
