BenQ Sponsors Three Professional Gaming Organizations:Check-Six Gaming, Flow Gaming, Verge Gaming
IRVINE, CA, April 2007 – BenQ America Corporation announced today that it will provide product sponsorship for three professional gaming organizations this year – Check-Six Gaming, Flow Gaming and Verge Gaming. BenQ will be outfitting each organization with the company’s latest performance LCD monitors and DLPTM projectors engineered specifically for the gaming enthusiast. The sponsorships follow on the heels of the company’s highly successful sponsorship of the Cyberathletic Professional Leagues’ (CPL) December 2006 tournament in Dallas, TX, for which the FP93GX was the official CPL monitor.
BenQ will be supplying all three organizations with the 19” FP93GX, 19” FP94VW and 22” wide FP222WH LCD monitors, which will be used for practice and at live events. With ultra-fast 2ms response time, the 19” BenQ monitors are ideal for First-Person-Shooter (FPS) games such as the extremely popular Counter-Strike: Source; while the FP222WH’s high contrast and brightness make the monitor the choice display for strategy games like WarCraft III.
"The BenQ FP93GX is far and away the finest display I have ever used. It has an extremely low 2ms response time which helps keep Verge a step ahead of our competition in Counter-Strike: Source. After using other LCD displays in the past I was skeptical, but after using BenQ, I'm a believer," said Grant "Griff" Hall, Verge Gaming team member.
DLP projectors will also be used to provide large-screen fan viewing of games, such as the MP770 employed by MTV during its “Guitar Hero” Tournament at the BenQ booth during CPL 2006. Gaming professionals will also be using the high-end MP610 and MP770 projectors to view demos while preparing for events – a benefit that Flow Gaming states will put pro gaming “one step closer to the level professional sports are on today.”
Featuring the best in technology – HDMI, ultra-fast response times and exclusive SenseyeTM Human Vision and PerfectMotionTM for superior picture and action motion quality – BenQ products are helping pro gaming organizations and the community as a whole to reach new levels of recognition as a serious professional sport.
In addition, the extensive fan base and live worldwide competitions associated with the three gaming organizations will help expand the BenQ brand in the fast-growing multi-gaming community.
Upcoming national events include DC LAN in Washington, D.C. to be held in May; two June events – East Coast LAN in Virginia and Zion LAN in Illinois; and two July events – Summer CPL in Texas and CGESA on the East Coast.
