Kids Live Media, Inc., a small privately owned company in Fort Worth, TX has launched an exciting new website for families. The site, KidStuffToDo.com, is focused on families with small children, ages newborn to eight years-old. The goal of the site is to give parents a place where they can get information on such diverse subjects as development issues, age-appropriate behaviors, and childcare selection. The site also aims to create a database of business in a given geographic area that cater to families and small children. Finally, the site hosts a message board for parents to post on with questions and answers for each other as well as sharing parenting experiences. The site uses a business model of charging a one-time fee for advertisers. The "member business" joins the KidStuffToDo.com family by paying one fee for listing on the site for an entire year. During the year the business can submit content to be distributed to website traffic by posting in an article on the home page or inclusion in the monthly newsletter.
KidStuffToDo.com compiles its mailing list from parents who volutarily register with the site to receive information on new content on the site and upcoming events in the community. Parents are given special offers through the newsletter from member businesses that casual traffic would not be able to get.
Director of Operations, Dan Davis points out that KidStuffToDo.com is a very unique site. "We want to provide a fun site for Mom's, Dads, and kids looking for fun stuff to do. We also want to pass along good information we find on parenting." Parents agree. "The site is great for finding out what activities are available for my children," says Stacey Beard, mom of two.
