Raleigh Public Relations Society Accepting Nominees for Watt Huntley Award

Raleigh, NC – April 2007 – The Raleigh Public Relations Society (RPRS) has announced that it is currently accepting nominations for the 2007 Watt Huntley Award for Lifetime Achievement.

The award will be presented to a former or current public relations professional or journalist who has made meaningful contributions to the field of communications and to the community over the course of his or her career. The award recipient also must have demonstrated the kind of professionalism and integrity that distinguished Watt Huntley among his peers. The RPRS Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, June 26 at the RBC Center.

The late Watt Huntley served as public relations chief at Carolina Power and Light and as RPRS president in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Those who knew him admired his career skills and his efforts to give "heart and soul" to the profession.
