Raleigh Public Relations Society Board Members in High Demand for N.C. State University’s “PR Day”

RALEIGH, N.C. — Four members of the Raleigh Public Relations Society’s board of directors were featured speakers at “PR Day,” an annual event sponsored by the N.C. State University chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). The board members discussed their experiences as public relations professionals and leaders within their respective organizations at the event, which was held April 13 Friday at the McKimmon Center in Raleigh.

The RPRS board members who spoke were:
• RPRS president Frank Williams discussed “Preparing Yourself for the Job Market.” Williams is president of Pioneer Strategies Public Relations.
• Chuck Norman, RPRS immediate past president and vice president of Smith & Associates, discussed “Why Networking Works in Building Your Career.”
• Megan Henderson, president of Looking Glass Communications and RPRS awards chair, discussed “The Value of Flexibility in Your PR Career.”
• Tracy Phelan, RPRS membership chair and an account manager with The Catevo Group, discussed “Helpful Hints: How to Make the Most Of Your First Few Years in PR.”

“We were excited to be a part of this year’s PR Day,” said Williams. “Sharing our experiences and insights with the future public relations professionals was important to all of us because we want to equip our future co-workers with the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful once they enter the job market.
