Magnetic Re-engineers AthleteInMe Web Site, Adds PDA Interface for Restaurant Calorie Counter

TAMPA, Fla. – (April 2007) – Magnetic, a full-service Web development firm celebrating its 10th anniversary, has completed the re-engineering of AthleteInMe.com®, a comprehensive resource center for information on exercise and fitness, fitness gear and sports nutrition. The enhanced site, launched April 13, is now based on an ASP.NET 2.0 platform that allows for streamlined updates and a greatly enhanced customer experience.

Reents, a certified personal trainer and fitness counselor and a former healthcare professional, also offers subscription-based fitness counseling services which can be found in the Ask the Experts section.

Magnetic replaced the site’s previous platform with ASP.NET 2.0, which overcomes issues with character and file size limits that had made article and image uploads cumbersome. As a result, the site is now more attractive and easier to use than the previous text-heavy site. Registration, subscription and purchasing processes have also been enhanced to make them more secure and easier to use.

In addition, Magnetic created PDAthlete®, which emulates the site’s Restaurant Calorie Counter feature and allows consumers to download information on the calorie and fat content of restaurant menu items to their PDA. The program also calculates the minutes it will take to burn off the calories consumed by walking, jogging or biking.
