DALLAS, TEXAS, April 2007 – Telligent Systems, Inc., a provider of web-based collaborative and social networking solutions, announce the release of Community Server 2007. Community Server is the award winning platform that powers some of the most demanding web communities. Telligent’s Community Server includes integrated multi-user blogging, forums, file sharing, video-casting, podcasting, photo sharing, and social networking features along with an integrated set of tools for managing all of these applications and site users. “Community Server 2007 will add value to any organization looking to connect with their customers, partners or even employees. With the new dynamic theme engine, Community Server is an ideal solution for enterprise, small business and even personal users.” says Rob Howard, CEO of Telligent. ““For example, Community Server provides organizations such as MSNBC with simple collaborative solutions (blogs) for their highly visible properties such as The Today Show, Dateline, and many others.” To see more examples of how Community Server powers well known social networking and collaboration sites go to http://communityserver.org
Community Server’s new dynamic theme engine makes changing the look-and-feel of a Community Server site unbelievably simple. Using what-you-see-is-what-you-get tools for changing page layout, selecting fonts and font sizes, color pickers and palettes, tools for managing site images, and new tools for exporting and importing themes – making sharing designs possible. For designers and non-technical users these tools will enable them to control the look and feel of Community Server without requiring knowledge of technologies like HTML or Cascading Style Sheets.
“We’re also seeing a lot of penetration into Enterprise accounts, especially those already familiar with Microsoft’s SharePoint,” Says Tom Edwards, VP of Sales and Marketing. “SharePoint lacks many of the collaborative and social networking features that customers demand and we’re more than happy to provide that solution. We’ve also seen a tremendous groundswell as customers move from early-adopters of open source technologies to commercially supported products.”
“2006 was quoted as being the year of the blog”, continues Rob, “we think 2007 will be the year of the community. More and more we hear customers telling us, ‘We want to be the next MySpace and your software enables that’. Bottom line for us is that it’s an exciting time for this new release!”
Community Server 2007 has a variety of license types for personal and commercial usage and is available at www.communityserver.org
