“MyAccuWeather Video Challenge” Gives Weather Fans the Opportunity to Post their Own Video Forecasts on AccuWeather.com

STATE COLLEGE, PA, April 2007—AccuWeather.com today announced that it has launched a user-contributed video contest that invites AccuWeather fans to submit video forecasts from their own backyards. Top entries will be featured on the MyAccuWeather Video Challenge site within AccuWeather.com and one lucky winner will be brought to AccuWeather headquarters in State College, PA to do a real AccuWeather.com forecast.Video submissions of all types are accepted: video, animation, stop-motion photography, and more. The only limits of medium are the participants’ imaginations. All eligible entries will be posted to the site and category prizes will be awarded for Most Creative, Most Professional, Most Original, Most Technically Adept, Funniest, and Most Popular. Category winners will be specially featured on AccuWeather.com and a separate Grand Prize winner will receive $5,000 and the chance to participate in the creation of a professional AccuWeather.com forecast. All judging will be done by a panel of video, online media, and meteorology experts at AccuWeather.com, except for the Most Popular category which will be determined by the number of views and ratings that the videos receive.
