SFL + a Architects Announces New Principal And Director Of Sustainable Design

RALEIGH, N.C. – Robbie Ferris, president and CEO of SFL + a Architects, has announced that Charles Brown, AIA, LEED AP, has joined the firm as principal and director of sustainable design. In this position, Brown will take a lead role in implementing green techniques and strategies for the firm’s expanding high performance and sustainable design practice. An active member within the U.S. Green Building Council, Brown will provide the firm additional expertise utilizing environmentally friendly, sustainable, green design principals.

Prior to joining SFL + a Architects, Brown led the Raleigh architectural firm of Brown Architecture, Inc. Under his guidance, the firm received a number of awards in recognition of its continuing contributions to sustainable design, including the Sir Walter Raleigh Community Appearance Award in 2005, the Raleigh Neighborhood Appearance Award in 2004 and the North Carolina Sustainability Award in 2002. A native of Wilmington, N.C., and a graduate of North Carolina State University, Brown resides in Raleigh.
