The Alexandre Turpault factory founded in 1847, is the largest and oldest textile firm in the area, producing luscious table, bed and bath linens with a contemporary sensibility in 100% linen, linen-cotton blends, and Egyptian cotton. More than any other fabric, linen has a natural feel. Although linen wrinkles more than cotton (Europeans, however, don’t seem to mind), its positive qualities are hard to match. Because linen fibers have a parallel arrangement, they produce an extremely sturdy cloth which is color fast, and only becomes softer with repeated use.

Alexandre Turpault also produces dual tone table linens called “MURANO” which are constructed with a solid color center and a contrasting border. Colors available are cream, natural, champagne, blush, pearl gray, anthracite, lime, moss, terracotta, plum and camelia. Color can produce a complete change of atmosphere in the dining room simply by unfolding a tablecloth with coordinating or contrasting napkins in vibrant tones.

In addition to tablecloths, napkins and placemats, Alexandre Turpault produces sleek, contemporary bedding in both traditional and deep colors. The 2007 luxury bedding collection presents “SEPALE”, bed linens in 100% linen embroidered with an orchid motif, and “TOSCA” in 100% Egyptian cotton sateen. “TOSCA” is a solid sateen with contrast piping in silver, ice blue, mink, anthracite, pearl gray, amethyst, champagne, and gold.
