New Herb Cellar Location Near Completion…Soon To Boast Healthiest Gourmet Coffee and Food In The Area

STERLING, IL – The transformation of the old Ponderosa building is nearing completion as the staff of the Herb Cellar gears up for their grand opening shebang. The place is bustling with builders giving it a fresh new look, as the deli equipment waits patiently by the front entry for its permanent spot. Their deli and café will offer a “Starbuck’s-type” coffee menu, organic breakfast and lunch items, free internet, and a retro Berkley coffeehouse ambiance. The Herb Cellar owners Paul and Veronica Machnicki felt they needed to know more about specialty coffees, so they recently attended a 3-day Coffee Business Seminar in Chicago. After completing courses about the gourmet coffee industry, Veronica is now Certified in Specialty Coffees, and confident the deli will have the healthiest, best tasting cup of coffee in the area. Their new espresso machine purchased at the show is ready for brewing at the big grand opening, expected in mid to late June. To keep in step with the current coffee house popularity, the deli will offer the typical, trendy lattes, espressos, and gourmet coffees, but with one big distinction—their specialty coffees will also be organic. More important to them than the steaming, whipping, and flavoring aspects of gourmet coffee, is the origin and processing of the coffee bean. “Most of the coffee brands on supermarket shelves would produce a typical cup of coffee containing about 10 milligrams of toxic carcinogens. We want to give people the healthiest coffee available,” states Veronica.
The deli will also offer organic sandwiches, soups, salads, pizzas, side dishes, fresh juices and smoothies. The drive-through window will handle the take-out orders for those eating on the run. Additionally, the health food store will be bigger and offer a larger selection health foods and supplements, including a new section for organic produce.
So watch for our grand opening news, stop by with your laptop, grab a bite, and relax…it may taste too good to be healthy, but you won’t find a better, healthier meal around.
