In the spirit of giving back to the community and contributing to the Toronto Clean City Beautiful City campaign, the Kiwanis Club of North York is hosting a Spring Cleanup event at G Ross Lord Park this Saturday, April 14. The event will be held at G Ross Lord Park this Saturday, April 14th from 9am to 12pm. The Kiwanis Club has reached out to several organizations to drum up support and have signed up volunteers, but more are needed.
“We are pleased to be working with Toronto Parks & Recreation on this endeavor. Community parks are an important place for both children and adults to play, exercise and relax. It is crucial that we keep these places clean to obtain the full benefit that they were intended for. G Ross Park is a fairly large park, so we appreciate all the help that we can get. ” Kiwanis Club member Ajay Singhal said in a statement.
The park cleanup is one of several initiatives the Kiwanis Club of North York has undertaken this year. It is also regularly involved with several different community service organizations including: CNIB, Easter Seal Society, Reena Foundation, Salvation Army and Scouts Canada.
