DavidGilmour.com Recieves 'Official Honoree' Distinction in the 11th Annual Webby Awards

DALLAS, TEXAS – The Webby Awards, the leading international honor for the Web, today recognized DavidGilmour.com as an Official Honoree, a distinction that recognizes work exhibiting remarkable achievement. The Web site was designed by Dallas-based JABEYE in February 2006, and the company has been retained to manage daily updates and other development work.

In addition to favorable reviews from traditional sources – the BBC in London described David Gilmour’s Web presence as "perhaps the best artist-based site that we have seen" – the site has received acclaim from its most important critics, the fans, who say that DavidGilmour.com is "more user-friendly and less 'arty-farty' than the typical rock star's Web site" and "is definitely one of the best of any band/artist at informing fans of what's going on…and in such a brilliant presentation, which exudes elegance and class".

According to an industry insider, "Very few artists would be concerned enough for their fan base to set up a place like this, with free downloads, direct communication, really up-to-the-minute news, humor, and a great and ever-changing music loop. It takes a lot of work and effort".

The 11th Annual Webby Awards received a record 8,000 entries from over 60 countries and all 50 states. Out more than 8,000 entries submitted, fewer than 15% received this honor and were deemed an Official Honoree.
