April 2007, San Francisco, CA – Funky Oysters today announces the grand opening of their online store, FunkyOysters.com. The site features jewelry highlighting the colorful, versatile re-discovered freshwater pearl. The current collection is priced from $15-$80, a great value for jewelry featuring real pearls.

The freshwater pearl is currently going through a re-discovery phase. With improve-ments in quality, jewelers now have plentiful choices to craft unique pieces utilizing the pearls’ color, shape, and type. Mindful that customers may initially think of freshwater pearls as crinkly-shaped, Funky Oysters has collected pieces that show off the pearls’ iridescent colors and unusual shapes in classic, modern, and ultra-hip designs.

The Funky Oysters collection aims to make pearls fashionable again. The Classic collection showcases traditional styles with a hint of modernity, like using extra large oval pearls, or combining the luminous colors of lavender, peach, and beige in one strand.
