More demand for Trainer1’s instructional design courses

Organisations including a consortium of 24 Scottish councils, the Future Electronics corporation in Montreal, Canada, and even the British Army are queuing up to gain the benefits of the ‘More than Instructional Design’ course specially developed by Neil Lasher of Trainer1, one of the UK’s leading learning consultancies.

Since publishing - last year - ‘The five ‘A’s of Learning’, a model of instructional design (ID) which encapsulates the lessons of 20 years of designing e-learning and related materials to produce a model for ID specifically relating to task-based and ‘rapid’ or ‘workflow’ e-learning, Lasher has been in demand to run instructional design (ID) courses in the USA, the UK and even Russia.

The courses are designed to further delegates’ understanding and creation of e-learning, helping them to become both proficient and self-sufficient in producing effective e-learning materials. They help delegates to create precise, reliable and cost-effective learning for the most demanding of professionals.

“We will provide you with a process for structuring e-learning courseware to facilitate effective, performance-enhancing e-learning,” said Lasher. “This course takes you through the instructional design process by working on a real project.

”You will receive tips on how to isolate the learning requirements, create the right blend to address different learning styles, design a course map, identify opportunities for interactivity and practise scriptwriting as well as get the opportunity to receive advice direct from the trainer as along with other course delegates,” he added.

“Delegates can find out if they are suited to creating e-learning materials and the course takes the novice from the ‘toe in the water’ stage to ‘full immersion’ in the world of e-learning,” he said.

“However, the tips and techniques that the course explores are applicable to ID for all forms of learning delivery – not merely e-learning. It is this cross-platform applicability that is attracting an increasing number of delegates on our ‘open courses’.”

Courses over the next few months include a monthly course in London; one in Las Vegas in late April at one of the pre-conference workshops for the Lectora User Conference, and in Atlanta in June.
