Ambrosia Restaurant Jazz Vocalist Chris Williams Wins at Orange County Music Awards

The world class Ambrosia Restaurant (www.ocpavilion.com) is pleased to announce Chris Williams, leader of the Chris Williams Trio, has received an award at the 2007 Orange County Music Awards. The Chris Williams Trio performs in Ambrosia every Wednesday through Saturday during dinner service.

Chris Williams Latin jazz rendition of “Comes Love” received the award for Best Latin and was originally written and composed by Lew Brown, Sammy Stept, and Charles Tobias. “Comes Love” is featured on his album, premoderism. The album features a mix of Straight-ahead, Bebop and Latin jazz.

Williams was also honored by receiving a Best Song nomination at the competition for “Comes Love”. Williams was up against more than 600 submissions to receive the honor of being in the top 5 submitted entries to qualify for the Best Song category.

Chris has been touted for his vibrant stage presence and performs straight-ahead, bebop and Latin jazz while consistently putting new twists on old standards. The Chris Williams Trio also includes David Miller on the upright bass and Matt Politano on Piano.

In addition, Chris Williams will be performing on the main stage of the OC Pavilion for a concert on June 23rd. Tickets range from $25-35 and tickets for the event are available at the OC Pavilion box office or online at www.ocpavilion.com.
