From Kent Roosevelt High School all the way to Seattle, Washington and back again, Dr. William Rudy’s work as an optometrist has taken him across the country. As the next step in his career, he has returned to Kent to join the staff at Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons. Dr. Rudy’s extensive background in refractive surgery, glaucoma treatment, laser vision correction and multi-focal intraocular lens implantation procedures has already proven helpful to several patients at Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons.
“We’re delighted to have an experienced optometrist with such a strong refractive background as Dr. Rudy,” said Dr. Lawrence Lohman, founder and Medical Director at Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons. “And the fact that he grew up here makes it all the better.” A graduate of Kent Roosevelt, Dr. Rudy attended classes at Kent State University while he was still in high school. He went on to graduate from The Ohio State University College of Optometry before doing his postdoctoral residency in Ocular Disease at the Cleveland Wade Park Veterans Administration Medical Center, where he worked in conjunction with Case Western Reserve University ophthalmology residents. After completing his residency, Dr. Rudy moved to the West Coast to work for several years in private practice specializing in glaucoma, cataracts, and serving elderly patients. He returned to the Midwest in 2001, working in group practices in Toledo and Sandusky.
“Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons offers me a unique opportunity to use my experience in both refractive care and clinical care,” explained Dr. Rudy. “NEOES is well known for their caring, personalized attention to each patient. I’m very excited to be part of this outstanding practice.”
