WebApps' CEO Elected to SIIA Software Division Board

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - April 5, 2007 - WebApps, Inc., a leading provider of Software as a Service (SaaS), with a major push in Time and Labor Management, will be representing its peers in the software industry along with the benefits of the SaaS delivery model, with its newly appointed seat on the Software & Information Industry Association's (SIIA) Software Division Board. Via the election of Bill Loss, WebApps' CEO, WebApps will participate in the Software Division Board's first meeting with the newly elected board members on April 15th in San Francisco, CA. The elections were held through March 9th and were open to primary representatives from each member company to the Software Division. Six seats in total were open for this election, each for a 2-year term. Current participating member companies include IBM, Citrix, Oracle, Novell, WebEx, and several other emerging software companies. The Software Division Board is a volunteer group of software industry leaders. Working with David Thomas, the Division's General Manager, the Software Division Board helps set the agenda and direction of the Division in general. SIIA provides an opportunity for existing members to nominate industry executives to this particular board.
According to SIIA, "The Software Division provides a neutral business forum for companies that develop the applications, services, infrastructure, and tools that drive the software and services industry. The Division's programs support member business development through networking, partnerships, industry exposure, and strategic insight on the issues and trends of the industry." The Software Division is comprised of over 350 member organizations, each taking part in the voting process.

According to its website, the SIIA is the principal trade association for the software and digital content industry. SIIA provides global services in government relations, business development, corporate education, and intellectual property protection to the leading companies that are setting the pace for the digital age. The Association is made up of six boards in total: Anti-Piracy, Government Affairs, Software Division, Content Division, Education Division, and Financial Information Services Division.
