Thycotic Software's Multi User Password Manager Addresses the Necessary Evil of Organization

Thycotic Software Ltd., a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and a leader in providing security software solutions, today announces the latest release of its enterprise password management system, Secret Server. The newest version focuses on the importance of password organization within businesses. What is it?
Secret Server is a password management system designed for colleagues in enterprises to securely store and share secrets. Secrets include but are not
limited to: passwords, bank account information, product license keys, etc.
"Most businesses have their own way of doing things. It is important for them to have software that can be customized to their standards," says Jonathan
Cogley, CEO, Thycotic Software. "We decided to upgrade Secret Server to help administrators organize and standardize their password settings."
Secret Server 2.2 introduces the concept of folders. Instead of just creating and saving a secret, users now have the option of storing their secrets in
folders. These folders help categorize secrets by separating them according to different needs. "An IT consultant will now be able to put all passwords
they use or share with a particular client in one folder and passwords they share with co-workers at a different location in another," says Kevin Jones,
Senior .Net Developer, Thycotic Software.
Secret Server administrators now have the option of standardizing secret names. "If an administrator wants to keep all company email accounts in Secret Server consistent, they can force the company name to be included in the secret. For example, Thycotic Software - Email Account," says Jones. The Naming Standard feature helps administrators and users clearly identify secrets. It also assists them in complying with information security guidelines set by their company.
Another addition to Secret Server is the enhancement of the Password Generate feature. Administrators now have the ability to set password requirements by defining the character set and length. When users click on Generate Password while creating a secret, only passwords that meet the requirements, will be produced.
"We build Secret Server based on customer feedback," says Cogley. "Organization is important to our users and every business."
