Author Agrees Deadbeat Dads Should Be On Pizza Boxes Christina Rowe, author of Seven Secrets to a Successful Divorce weighs on controversial new way of catching deadbeat dads
April 02, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
When Christina Rowe read recently about the Ohio pizza parlors that were putting the pictures and names of deadbeat dads on their pizza boxes, she thought it was a great idea. Christina’s own ex-husband refused to pay child support during her divorce and spent a month in a county jail before paying the child support he owed.Because of her difficult divorce, Christina Rowe was inspired to write her first book “Seven Secrets to a Successful Divorce-what every woman needs to know”. Since then she has been on a quest to educate and teach women the survival skills they must know to have a successful divorce outcome. “I was completely unprepared during my divorce. I never imagined that my divorce could become so ugly. My husband took our savings, refused to pay spousal and child support and left me deeply in debt. I vowed to share the knowledge I learned from my experience and help other women” says Christina.
Although putting the pictures of deadbeat parents on pizza boxes may seem like an extreme measure; Christina Rowe feels that it is another tool child enforcement agencies can use to track down parents who refuse to pay child support. There has been some noise from father’s rights advocate groups calling on the morality of using such techniques.
“Children who do not receive child support are being hurt by the parent who refuses to support them. The custodial parent is forced to be the sole provider and often must work two jobs to support the family. Many times families are forced to go on welfare or lose their homes due to non-payment of child support” says Christina Rowe. There are currently 17 million children in the U.S. who do not receive child support.
On April 12th, 2007 Christina Rowe is donating 100% of the profits from her book “Seven Secrets to a Successful Divorce” to The Child Support Disaster Relief Fund (A.C.E.S). When you buy the book on amazon.com on April 12th, Christina is also giving away over $700 in free valuable gifts. http://www.secretsofdivorce.com/freebonuses.htm
Christina Rowe is hoping that she will generate enough sales of her book on April 12th to help these families who are not receiving child support.
She is feels that the campaign to expose deadbeat parents on pizza boxes should be nationwide. “Non-payment of child support is a crime. We do not hesitate to expose criminals in post offices and on “America’s Most Wanted”, why would we not want to do everything in our power to catch parents who are neglecting their children and force them to pay the money they owe?” says Christina.
