Datamatics sets up Development Center in China with DarwinSuzsoft

Bangalore and Shanghai, March 2007: Datamatics Limited, IT consulting and services company, announced setting up of a 20,000 square-meter software development center in the Suzhou Industrial Park with DarwinSuzsoft, one of the leading ITO/BPO companies in China, providing software design, engineering and quality assurance services.

The center, currently 50 software engineers in strength, will focus on developing software and enterprise-wide technology solutions. Leveraging the excellent infrastructure in SIP, China, it will connect directly with the Datamatics’ US & Mumbai facilities to provide end to end solutions including BPO Data Capture/Entry work. It will further ramp up its strength to 1,500 within the next 18 months. This center has the full support and backing of the SIP government. At its peak, it will be the largest development center ever set up by an Indian IT company in partnership with China.

Datamatics Limited will be outsourcing some of its development tasks to the center while continuing its involvement in high-end software design, custom application management and project management phases, as well as in strategic business areas like customer relationship management.

The Suzhou Industrial Park (www.sipac.gov.cn) is a one-hour drive from China’s financial hub Shanghai. The Park, a modern industrial township that offers world-class infrastructure, was built jointly by the Chinese and Singapore governments. It currently has over 1,800 foreign-invested companies, including over 50 Fortune 500 companies. SIP officials are excited at being chosen as the preferred choice across China for this unique cooperation between the two countries. The setting up of this center is the result of multiple meetings and visits to India by high ranking SIP officials that started in May last year.
