OurGrove.net Tests Its Pagan Community Social Network Metal

OurGrove.net is a new long awaited social network for Pagan lifestyles much like the formula used by popular websites like Friendster and MySpace. Our primary audience focus is for individuals interested in or actively participating in Pagan religion. Until now, there has been no true social network with the level of organizational sophistication and advanced features as is being offered here. Our membership base is primarily Wiccan practitioners who are either initiates, solitary, High Priestess, High Priest and the curious seeker. We also welcome active sharing of knowledge and expression from all neo-Pagan belief systems.

The theme is relative to but not typical of the average social network. We offer a distinct difference in approach — "friends" become "Confidantes" who can be added by into a member's private circle by election only by an authenticated members request. In the Wiccan world for example, trusted friends are vital to keeping close the inner workings of a Coven hence our use here of the term confidante. It make better sense in the scheme of things. Conversely, "groups" become "Covens" or other special convenes for members to gather and discuss more specific areas of their craft. By default only a High Priestess may create a Coven and invite members to join, while a High Priest must have a High Priestess to co-lead his Coven for optimum functioning. Becoming a Coven leader requires mandatory active participation in the communities development to be worthy of the role.

The social network is built by its members participation like posting content such as in a blog or forum or writing an article. Member may elevated to significant roles within the community. Members are rewarded for actions by earning points represented as "Blessings", which are commensurate with their activities such as inviting a guest, having a guest become a member, posting content to the community and so on.

The community is promoted by member referral and word of mouth. Stickiness features for active participation at OurGrove.net are in on-going development for future release. Some new features being tested are classified ads, recipe submission and the ability to securely buy and sell tangible and electronic merchandise. Growth is purposely planned and managed as incrementally slow during Alpha to allow our membership body to offer feedback and suggest functional additions and changes as the network moves into Beta and ultimately to a formal launch.

Consequently, planned revenue streams will be from advertising, advanced premium features, electronic document ecommerce and elective control mechanisms for an advertiser-free browsing experience.
