SAN MATEO, Calif. – Mar 29, 2007 - Sensitron, Inc., an international market leader in wireless point-of-care solutions, announced that it has successfully completed the careTrends interface to CASMED™’s 740 multi-parameter vital signs monitor. This new interface was demonstrated at the Health Information Management Systems and Society (HIMSS) Conference in New Orleans recently.

Sensitron’s careTrends is used to collect patient data at the point-of care and wirelessly transfer it to a hospital’s electronic medical record (EMR). This breakthrough system minimizes transcription errors and eliminates lag time between the reading, capture and documentation of clinical data. The interface to the CASMED 740 provides a wireless solution to document vital signs information such as non-invasive blood pressure, pulse oximetry, temperature, and heart rate.

CASMED is a medical device company focused on innovative, non-invasive vital signs monitoring. Andrew Kersey, CASMED’s Chief Operating Officer, stated, “We are pleased to add Sensitron’s wireless careTrends interface to our list of EMR solutions available to customers. We believe the Sensitron careTrends interface to the CASMED 740 has the potential to improve the standard of patient care in a facility while reducing overall costs.”
Rajiv Jaluria, Chief Executive Officer and President of Sensitron, Inc., added, “Our new interface to the CASMED product will allow Sensitron to further penetrate the hospital vital signs monitoring market by expanding the number of monitors that are careTrends®-ready. We look forward to continuing to expand our relationship with CASMED into other markets and products.”
