Memorial Health CME Reaccredited For Four Years

The Medical Association of Georgia has reaccredited Memorial Health’s Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities for a full four years, without citation.

Memorial Health’s CME Department offers a range of educational programs to Georgia physicians who, in order to maintain their license and credentials, must have at least 40 hours of CME a year.

“Memorial Health has maintained a CME program for 32 years, so we are very proud of this reaccreditation,” said CME Chairman William N. Wessinger, M.D., CPE.
The two-part process required the completion of a comprehensive application followed by a four-hour site visit by a Medical Association of Georgia survey team. The visit was to ensure Memorial Health’s CME Department was in compliance with the essentials and standards of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education. The findings were presented to the Medical Association of Georgia Continuing Medical Education Committee.
Under the leadership of Shirley Johnson, R.N., MSA, director of continuing professional education, all CME activities offered by Memorial Health come under the review of Memorial Health’s own CME committee to ensure compliance with applicable accreditation rules.
