Agis Adds Custom-Sewn Fabric Specialties to High Temp Product Line

AGIS, LLC, manufacturer and distributor of industrial sealing products, has added custom-sewn, heat-resistant fabric specialty items to its line-up of high temperature safety products. Among the products that Agis manufactures to customer specs or blueprints are: welding and furnace curtains, fire and insulation blankets, drape cloths, drop cloths, aprons, flue sleeves, flexible expansion joints, molten metal splash guards, hood skirts, hand pads and gloves for welding, furnace and similar high-temperature applications.More than 12 types of fabrics, resistant to working temperatures ranging from 400° to over 3000°F, are available. All items are machine- or hand-sewn with thread having properties compatible with the materials utilized, e.g. Kevlar® thread for Kevlar curtains, fiberglass thread for fiberglass curtains, etc.
All blankets and curtains are fully hemmed. Blankets requiring an insulating material are fabricated with tufting buttons to hold the insulating material place. Grommets may be placed where desired.
Available materials include:
- Aluminized fiberglass for situations requiring the control of radiant heat;
- AGIS heavyweight fiberglass cloth for use with working temperatures up to 1000°F;
- High temperature silica textiles for use with working temperatures up to 1800°F
- High temperature/abrasion resistant vermiculite coated fiberglass up to 1600°F
- AGIS ceramic woven cloth for temperatures up to 3000°F;
- Some fabrics are also available with optional coatings of neoprene, Teflon® or silicone rubber; or they may be aluminized.
