Spoken Rhythm, A New Genre of Music is Unveiled

In the same fashion and likeness as every thing that continues to live and grow, it must evolve, into something greater and seemingly more special. The same holds true for the music we listen to on an everyday basis. Thank goodness, there is a new genre of music on the horizon! It is called “Spoken Rhythm”, originated by Frank Pete, a Chicago poet.

What is “Spoken Rhythm?” Spoken Rhythm is the eloquent unification of spoken words and rhythm and blues music. It embodies and embraces the full art form of poetry while, creatively intermingling with various genres of music (i.e. gospel, jazz, r&b) in such fashion that, one can generically name a spoken rhythm composition, a song. Oh, it is only poetry to music? As a much needed caution to the consumer in a colossal effort to prevent prejudgment, try not to believe that you already know what this style of music sounds like if you haven’t had the opportunity of hearing it. Time and time again consumers become pleasantly surprised by this new genre, for the reason that, as soon as some consumers hear that Spoken Rhythm contains poetry, they immediately feel they have heard it in the past, thus losing interest in giving it, the listen it rightfully deserves. This is where the adage that speaks to a person placing the carriage before the horse, aptly applies.

Okay, and what about the content? The content overall is relationship based with branches connecting to gospel, politics, self-motivation and love for your family. There is absolutely zero vulgarity, no murders, no drugs, and no bling-bling, just quality concepts that occur in our everyday lives with a poetical twist. Profanity? Virtually non-existent! If profanity is used, it is deliberately placed solely to give the intensity of a specific point, and it definitely won’t make the avid no-profanity listener cringe when hearing it. Rest assured that on an entire spoken rhythm album, you would not exceed one hand in profane words, if you decide to count them individually with your fingers. That’s the beauty of Spoken Rhythm, unlike various artists of today, foul language is never used to complete a rhyme scheme or a punch line. So that means in a public setting, spoken rhythm compositions can always be recited and the potency of the message doesn’t suffer due to the absence of profanity.

Spoken Rhythm is here to fill the void our music has been missing for years! Visit the website, spread the word, and support this new genre of music!
