Hatfield PA USA - SIMCO Industrial Static Control has recently been award a patent , no US 7,180,722 B2 for their new True AC Static Control Power Supply. The True AC Power Supply is the only self-monitoring AC power supply available for static control equipment. The unit is designed to operate with the R50 and R51 Static Control Bars to provide consistent static control of materials traveling at speeds up to 2,500 feet per minute, while also monitoring and controlling the equipment. The system uses visual indicators for BAR ON, BAR OFF, FAULT, SERVICE, BAR PERFORMANCE RANGE and CLEAN BAR.
The True AC system is designed with LOCAL or REMOTE on/off control so the unit can be wired directly to your production line for better convenience and control. The power supply is equipped with an ARC-DETECTION circuit to protect the unit in the event of a short.
The True AC circuitry is monitoring the ion current from the static eliminator, and the system is calibrated at your facility to match the actual operating environment. The calibration effectively removes all area interferences allowing the system to focus on the web charge and the performance of the static bar. Because it is a true AC circuit, it has an innate ability to recognize impedance to the ionization, conductive or insulative, that can affect the performance of a static control bar over time.
