Forall Systems Launches ForSurveys, Handheld Software for Face-to-face Surveys

Forall Systems’ new product, ForSurveys, simplifies data collection during face-to-face interviews. ForSurveys combines the accessibility of the web with the portability of a PDA. While powerful enough to handle the most extensive of data collection needs, ForSurveys is simple to use.

After years of developing handheld solutions for various industries, Forall Systems saw a need for assistance with creating surveys and collecting the results in various environments. With their unique experience with using handheld technology for wired & wireless data collection, Forall Systems designed ForSurveys as a tool to aide in the data collection process.

Using the ForSurveys websites, surveys can be designed with an intuitive interface, and can be previewed online before deployment on the handheld. Selecting from over 15 different question types, surveys can be further customized with: sectioning, compound logic, multiple languages and response validation.

Once designed, surveys can be deployed to handhelds running Palm OS with ease. Supported handhelds include: Palm Z22, T|X, Tungsten E2 and Treo Smartphones Windows Mobile support is also available. Using the handheld, interviewers can quickly interview and record results. Once all of the data is collected, results can be synchronized via wireless or desktop connections. All data transmission uses SSL to ensure secure data communication.

Responses can be analyzed in real-time, using the online reporting tools available on the ForSurveys website. Graphs and charts allow users to quickly analyze the collected data and find responses most relevant to their research. Collected data can also be exported in a variety of formats (CSV, XLS, Triple-S), thus allowing importing into data analysis software for further processing.

ForSurveys also offers a web services interface, allowing developers to integrate into an existing infrastructure. Data can easily be imported/exported from ForSurveys in real-time, allowing for a number of customizations that greatly increase the value that ForSurveys provides.

Recently, ForSurveys was used to collect health-related data from participants at the City Of Chicago’s Holiday Sports Festival.
