Expansion of Local Cd/DVD manufacturer

Digital Works Inc. of Las Vegas has acquired Digital Depot LLC. The terms of the sale were not disclosed. Digital Depot is located at 3487 W 2100 South in Salt Lake City. Media Fast LLC of Alpine Utah is the sales agent for the Salt Lake facility made the announcement.

“Digital Works is one of the leading CD and DVD manufacturers in the Western US,” Bart Howell of Media Fast said.

The Salt Lake Plant will be expanded immediately with substantial additional equipment and personnel and will be fully functional as of March 19, which will result in a tripling of the plant’s daily manufacturing capacity, he said.

“The Salt Lake City facility has been producing 60,000 DVD’s and 20,000 CD’s a day,” Howell said. “With the expansion, those numbers will jump to 130,000 DVD’s per day and 120,000 CD’s per day for a total of 250,000 discs per day.”

Howell added that “Digital Works is a fully licensed and authorized Philips Intellectual Property CD/DVD replication manufacturer.”

Philips IPS requires all CD/DVD manufacturers to be registered and compliant with their patent and royalty program. Prior to the acquisition, Digital Depot became fully licensed and compliant with all patent royalty requirements required by law under the intellectual property and standards.

In a separate, but related announcement, the Salt Lake facility now offers full-scale fulfillment services and has already signed its first national account Gold Hill Entertainment of Camarillo, Calif. Fulfillment services include inventory control, automatic ordering systems, complete order processing and shipping and tracking services, return merchandise handling and warehousing. Digital Works plans to accommodate thousands of individual products.

Digital Works was founded five years ago and has been one of the fastest growing CD/DVD replication sources in the country. This expansion will make Digital Works the largest privately held CD/DVD manufacturer in the U.S.
