Why: In an age of corporate strategically and politically organized trade conferences, BarcampLA (like BarCamps organically replicating and morphing around the world) take a different approach, inspired in part by the spirit of open source software development. A two day "mind meld," participants all become presenters in schedule slated on the fly by individuals from coders to communicators to mavens and connectors who present and share in long form sessions designed to foster innovation, excitement and intensity in a friendly “mind laboratory” setting.
Past Barcamp sessions have included sessions as diverse as “How to Make a Digital Camera for $35”, "3D Metaverse Roadmap" , "Coder Yoga" , "XML-RPC APIs" , "GTD with Google Tools" and "Web 2.0, the pain, problems and paradoxes".
